Falkenrath Pit Fighter

A one-mana 2/1 that carries a refuel engine on its back, but every clause on the activation is a lock the deck has to open first: two mana untapped, a card you are willing to pitch, a Vampire to feed the sacrifice (it can eat itself in a pinch, so the fodder requirement is softer than it looks), and, the real gate, an opponent whose life total has already moved this turn. That last condition is what shapes the card. It will not draw you out of a stalled board or a defensive crouch, only reward a game state you are already ahead in. The design pushes the aggressive Vampire deck to keep the beatdown live so the fuel stays online, then converts a spent attacker and a dead card in hand into fresh gas at the exact moment the pressure threatens to run dry. Read as a one-drop, it is a fine early clock; read as an engine, it pays out only when the aggro plan is functioning as intended, which is a tidy way to keep a card-advantage effect out of the grindy midrange decks where it would just be raw value with no strings. It asks its pilot to sequence the attack and the refill together rather than treating the draw as a fallback for a game that has already gone sideways.
