Faerie Dragon

Summon Dragon2 generic manaGreen manaGreen mana

The activated ability is the tell: a randomizer that draws from a table of chaotic outcomes the printed rules never defined. That only works inside software, which is exactly where this card lived, designed for the original Shandalar computer game rather than for a tabletop stack. It belongs to the Astral category, a set of cards built for a digital engine that could roll a result and apply it, never tournament-legal and never meant to be. The body is almost beside the point: a 1/3 flier on a four-mana frame, the kind of evasive blocker green rarely receives, bolted to an effect no sanctioned format was ever built to resolve. Even the type line is a curiosity, since a green Dragon ran against everything the era's color pie said Dragons were. Taken together, the card is among the purest expressions of a brief window when Wizards was probing how Magic might translate to a screen, before MTGO formalized the answer. Its entire reason for existing is a randomizer the cardboard game cannot run.
