The double-white in a three-mana cost is the whole design conversation here: it plants this squarely in a dedicated white shell rather than a splash, and in exchange the deck gets evasion on a 2/3 frame that survives a one-power blocker and trades up against most early flyers. What earns the slot is the type line stacking two of the more heavily supported aggressive tribes onto one common body. A lord that pumps Vampires finds it; a lord that pumps Soldiers finds it too, and a white tribal deck built around ground creatures gets the flier its curve otherwise lacks. There is nothing beyond flying, and the design does not pretend otherwise: this is curve-filler whose only ambition is to be countable by two tribes at once, a body in the air at the point on the curve where an aggressive white deck wants one.
