Built for the artifact-density decks of an early-era block, this Juggernaut is less a beater than a counter pump on legs, converting spent or surplus artifacts into permanent stat gains at instant speed. The echo cost is the structural friction: you pay four to deploy it, then a second four when it sticks around, a double commitment before the body earns its keep. That reframes the 4/3 entirely. A creature costing eight mana split across two turns is a poor curve, so the design leans on the sacrifice ability as the real engine, rewarding a board already flush with disposable artifacts to feed it. The flavor of a Phyrexian factory tearing apart its own machinery to forge stronger creatures lines up cleanly with the mechanic: each artifact ground up makes something on your side bigger and harder to kill. It belongs to the wave of echo creatures that discounted aggressive bodies up front and taxed you later, and it sits among the more build-around members of that group because the activated ability has no inherent ceiling. Pile in enough fodder and the +1/+1 counters land on whatever needs to survive a removal spell or push the last points of damage, with no targeting restriction and no once-per-turn clause. The constraint is purely economic: you need artifacts to spare, and the echo extracts a toll for the privilege of running a sacrifice outlet that can also block.
