Eroded Canyon

Land — Desert

The dual-land template that trades speed for reach: a tapped Izzet source that pings an opponent for a point on the way in. The tapped clause is the standard tax on fixing that also plays two colors, but the enters trigger is the part worth studying. That single damage is not chip aggression; it is a rounding error on the life total that becomes a resource in the right shell. Aim it at a specific opponent to nudge a face toward burn range, feed a life-loss payoff, or simply guarantee a click of a "damage this turn" trigger without spending a card. The Desert land type is the quiet second half: a growing set of effects reward controlling Deserts or returning them from the graveyard, so tying that subtype to a fixing land lets it double as fuel for that theme rather than just occupying the mana base. The tension runs entirely between tempo and inevitability: you accept a turn of entering tapped and, in exchange, every copy shaves an opponent's clock by one and counts toward a subtype that other cards care about. Whether that trade earns a slot depends on the deck around it, but the design intent is legible. This is fixing that wants to do a second job while it sits in the mana base.
