Erdwal Illuminator
A doubler that cares about a verb, not a card. Investigate had only just become a named mechanic when this Spirit arrived, and the additional clause reads it at the level of the action: the first time you investigate in a turn, you investigate one more time, so a single Clue-maker turns into two, and a spell that investigates twice in one cast yields three rather than two. The "first time each turn" limiter is the lever that shapes how you build around it. Because the bonus is a flat plus-one applied once per turn, the engine rewards spreading small, frequent investigate triggers across many turns rather than stacking one enormous investigate moment; a turn where you investigate once and a turn where you investigate four times both collect the same single extra Clue, so the value lives in repetition, not in any single burst. It is the rare enabler that scales with the breadth of investigate sources rather than the depth of any one of them: every effect that says "investigate" anywhere on its text quietly gains a Clue the first time it fires each turn, which makes trigger ordering matter, since the bonus attaches only to whichever investigate goes first. The 1/3 flier is built to sit back and survive while that Clue pile accrues, chipping in over the top while the engine does its slow, additive work.
