Enigma Ridges

Plane — Echoir

A Planechase card designed to close the land gap it finds. The planeswalk trigger measures every player against whoever controls the most lands and hands the trailing players enough basics to catch up, less if they are close, more if they are behind, which is a rare thing to see in a random-encounter format: a stabilizer that actively pulls stragglers back toward parity rather than rewarding whoever is already ahead. The chaos ability then flips the register entirely, giving the active player who controls the die a cantrip plus an optional land drop from hand, so the plane rewards staying put and rolling the die once the field has been leveled. That two-part structure (equalize on arrival, accelerate on chaos) makes it one of the more deliberately balanced pieces of geography in the deck: the catch-up half neutralizes mana screw across the table, the payoff half runs entirely through the chaos die, which nobody controls for long. The basics-only clause on the search is the quiet constraint doing the heavy lifting; it fixes colors and fills the curve without ever fetching a value land, keeping the equalizer from becoming a tutor. It is a support card for the shared-deck experience rather than a bomb, built to keep a table's mana even so the real game can happen elsewhere.

Rules text

When you planeswalk to Enigma Ridges, each player who controls fewer lands than the player who controls the most lands searches their library for a number of basic land cards less than or equal to the difference, reveals them, puts them into their hand, then shuffles. Whenever chaos ensues, draw a card, then you may put a land card from your hand onto the battlefield.
