So the full cycle costs more than it first reads: pay the blue to sacrifice it for three off a target's library, cast a multicolored spell to retrieve it, then spend the whole again to put a body back on the table before you can mill anew. That
replay, not the
activation, is the real tax keeping this from spiraling. The result is mill that grinds patiently rather than explosively, three cards at a time, and only in a deck so committed to multicolored spells that the retrieval trigger comes for free with plays you were making anyway. It is a niche reward for a niche build, the kind of design that only made sense in an era pushing players hard toward gold spells and wanting a recursive payoff that scaled with that commitment instead of fighting it. The 2/2 body is fragile and the loop turns mana-hungry once you account for the recast, so it never threatened to be more than a slow, loyal engine for decks that lived and died by their color pairs.
