Elenda, the Dusk Rose

The 1/1 body is the bait; the engine is everything that dies around her. Elenda turns a grindy board into a growth chart, banking every creature's death as a permanent counter until she becomes a value bomb you actively want in the graveyard. The payoff inverts the usual aristocrats math: where most death-matters cards drain incrementally, she stockpiles the whole game's attrition into a single delayed explosion, cashing her accumulated power into an army of lifelinking tokens. The catch that gives the design its edge is that the token trigger keys strictly on her dying, not on her leaving play. Exile her, bounce her, flicker her, and all that stored power evaporates without a single Vampire to show for it. So removal becomes reward and a sacrifice outlet becomes a payoff button, but the trap is symmetrical: the answers that ignore the graveyard are the ones that punish her hardest. Her lifelink does double duty, racking up life while she grows and then seeding the tokens that inherit the keyword, so the board she leaves behind keeps draining. She never truly loops on her own (she has to die to make the tokens, and can't grow from their deaths once she's gone), but she doesn't need to: each cycle demands a fresh Elenda to start banking again. The whole package asks you to treat loss as a resource rather than something to guard against, a rarer axis to build a legend around than the rate first suggests.
