Ego Erasure
Two effects bolted onto one combat trick, and the second one is the joke. The -2/-0 is a defensive dampener, the kind of thing that turns a lethal swing into a survivable one. Stripping creature types runs the design somewhere playful: against a tribal board this is a wrecking ball, shutting off lord bonuses, type-matters triggers, and any payoff that asks "how many Goblins do you control." The Changeling line completes the gag: a spell whose entire purpose is erasing everyone else's tribal identity is itself, by virtue of being every creature type, the most tribally promiscuous object in the deck. That self-reference is the only reason this instant carries the Shapeshifter type at all; the keyword turns the card into a walking contradiction so the flavor lands. As a competitive trick it asks a lot of the board to be worth a card: the type-removal clause does nothing against anything that does not lean on creature types, and the -2/-0 alone rarely justifies its cost. But in a metagame stuffed with tribal aggression, the back half stops being a rider and becomes the reason to cast it, blanking a lord-stacked alpha strike for a single blue instant.
