Dutiful Griffin

Creature — Griffin3 generic manaWhite manaWhite mana

A recursion clause built for a deck that isn't playing a fair game with its enchantments. The body is a plain 4/4 flier, the kind of curve-filler white has printed for as long as it has had a color pie; the sacrifice ability is where the design tips its hand. Buying a five-mana creature back from the graveyard costs 2 generic manaWhite mana and, more to the point, two enchantments. In most decks that price is nonsense: sacrificing two live enchantments to save one creature is a losing trade. The Griffin only makes sense in a shell where enchantments come and go by design (Auras that have finished their job, spent tokens from enchantment-generating engines, or a Saga sacrificed in response to its final chapter trigger rather than left to the state-based cleanup that follows). White's enchantment-throughput decks tend to bleed permanents as they resolve their value, and this gives the pile a mana sink that turns that bleed into a repeatable clock: every time the enchantment count refreshes, a threat comes back with it. Read the ability not as a generic value engine but as a conditional payoff for building around enchantment turnover. On rate it reads as unremarkable, and outside its intended shell it stays that way; the reward only unlocks once the rest of the deck is already sacrificing enchantments as part of its plan.
