Dreadful Apathy

Pacifism has always had a hole every attentive player learns the hard way: it stops the beats, but the creature it neutralizes stays on the board, still valid sacrifice fodder, still a body that can be reanimated or blinked into a fresh problem. This Aura patches that hole with a built-in escape hatch. The base effect is the familiar can't-attack-or-block clamp, but the activated ability upgrades a temporary muzzle into permanent removal: pay the exile cost and the enchanted creature leaves the battlefield entirely, sidestepping regeneration, death triggers, and graveyard recursion in one motion. What makes it tick is the two-payment sequence. You commit the clamp early to stop the bleeding, then, when you have the mana to spare, spend the exile cost to close the door for good. Both halves cost the same, which turns the follow-up into a tempo question rather than a value one: is this target dangerous enough to warrant sinking a full turn's worth of mana into the exile, or did the pacify already do the job? The catch is that the answer sits on the battlefield as an Aura, exposed to enchantment removal in a way a resolved kill spell never is. That exposure is the price of the escape hatch, and it sharpens the decision: a single stroke of disenchantment hands back a creature you thought you had contained, so knowing when to spend the exile cost, rather than sitting on the clamp, is the whole game with this one.
