Dragon Throne of Tarkir
Equipment that pacifies the bearer to weaponize everything else: bolt this onto your biggest creature, accept that it can no longer attack, and turn its raw power into a team-wide pump that scales with the body you parked behind it. The scaling is the entire proposition. Stick it on a creature with eight power and the activation hands every other attacker trample and +8/+8, converting one large idle blocker into a battlefield's worth of lethal aggression. The defender clause is the cost the design pays for that ceiling: the engine creature stays home, holds the ground, and feeds the rest of the team rather than racing alongside it, which is why the artifact wants a high-power, naturally defensive anchor rather than a fragile finisher you would rather be swinging with. The activation is twice-taxed (mana plus a tap of the equipped creature), so it commits to one explosive turn rather than a repeatable grind, and the trample rider matters as much as the numbers, since a wide board pumped this large is otherwise easy to chump into oblivion. It sits alongside the go-wide payoffs that route a single creature's stats into the whole team, but where most of those count creatures or land, this one cares only about raw power, rewarding the kind of board where one fattened wall can outpace a squad of swords.
