Dovin's Automaton
A 3/3 for four with a static ability that reads as blank text most of the time: the +2/+2 and vigilance only switch on while you control a Dovin planeswalker, and a bare 3/3 for four is a body no deck runs on purpose. What makes it worth a second look is the shape of the payoff. Wizards has printed no shortage of creatures that reward a tribe, a color, or a keyword, but pinning a body's upgrade to control of one specifically named planeswalker (not a card type, not a permanent category) is a character-first conditional that only cashes out inside a shell built to hold it. Meet the condition and the numbers turn respectable while vigilance lets it swing and still guard the ground its patron wants held. The coherence is the point: a construct assembled to serve one master, inert without him and a serviceable clock the moment he lands and stays under your control. The floor is deliberately low, the ceiling gated behind a deckbuilding commitment most players will never bother to make, and the card is honest about the trade in a way few creatures at this rate are.
