Set the maximum hand size to eight and then guarantee you refill to it every turn, and you have converted the discard step from a liability into an engine. Most no-maximum-hand-size effects treat the draw step as their input and hope you find action; this design inverts that. It reads the difference between eight and whatever you have left at end of turn and tops you off, so a turn spent emptying your hand into the board is a turn that resets to a full grip before the next one begins. The eight-card ceiling matters as much as the floor: it caps the payload but also caps the exposure to symmetric wheel effects and discard, and it keeps the draw from ballooning into a mill of your own library. The +2/+2 anthem for other Villains is the more conventional half, a payoff that asks the build around it to commit to a creature-type theme, but the body is where the card carries its own weight: a 4/8 blocks essentially everything on the ground while the refill runs uninterrupted behind it, and toughness eight is a hard number for burn and combat to move. What balances the whole package is the cost. Seven mana in two colors buys a defensive wall and a per-turn card-advantage motor, not a fast clock, so the card asks you to survive to the end step and then rewards you for having done so, every turn, without fail.
