Divine Light

SorceryWhite mana

One white mana buys a turn-long shield over your own creatures, and because it is a sorcery, you cast it during your own main phase rather than in response to an incoming swing. That timing reframes the whole card: this is not a reactive blocker-saver but a proactive setup spell. You play it before combat, then attack into a board you would otherwise lose creatures against, knowing your team takes no damage all turn. Where a traditional fog like Fog or Holy Day blanks the entire combat step on either player's turn, this one is the one-sided version aimed at offense: your attackers connect, your opponent's blockers chip away at nothing, and you keep your whole board intact through the exchange. It also pre-empts a same-turn board-wide damage spell or a fight effect you fire off yourself, since the prevention shield is already up. The catch is that it stops only damage, so destruction, exile, sacrifice, and minus-toughness effects walk right through it, and it accomplishes nothing the turn your opponent's plan does not route through combat or burn. That narrowness is the cost of the white mana: it is a precise alpha-strike enabler for a deck with a board worth pushing, not a generic insurance policy you hold up against whatever comes.
