Disciple of Phenax
Targeted discard usually pays for its precision by hitting exactly one card: Thoughtseize takes one, Mind Twist scales but bleaves the choosing to luck. This Cleric splits the difference by tying the size of the raid to a board state you have already committed to building. Devotion to black is the count: the more black pips you have already deployed, the deeper the reveal, and the more cards you get to sift through before naming one for the bin. The discipline in that design is that the effect is front-loaded onto an enters trigger with no flashback, no recursion, no second shot. You get one reveal at the moment the body lands, scaled to the board you have at that instant, and then it is a 1/3 that does very little. The 1/3 frame is not incidental either: it is a wall that survives early aggression and adds two more pips to whatever devotion engine you are running, so the creature feeds the very mechanic that powered its own trigger. What makes the card more than a discard spell stapled to a body is that the discard is the reward for going deep on a single color, a payoff that gets stronger precisely as your deck commits harder to black, rather than a flat tax you pay regardless of board state.
