Dimir Guildmage

Hybrid mana is the design that lets a guildmage live in either parent color or both at once, and this one splits its two activations across the Dimir halves: blue draws, black discards. The catch is the price tag. Each mode runs four mana before you count the body, and both are locked to sorcery speed, so this is not a reactive piece but a slow grind engine you tap out for on your own turn. That sorcery restriction defines the card: no holding up the discard during an opponent's end step, no instant-speed value off their draw. What you get instead is a 2/2 that, once the game stalls, converts excess mana into repeatable card advantage on one half and repeatable hand disruption on the other. The "target player" symmetry does quiet work too: the draw can feed an ally in multiplayer or a politics deck, and the discard can be aimed at whoever is hoarding the most threatening hand. None of this is fast, and none of it is efficient by burst-spell standards. The pitch is durability: a creature that refuses to stop generating value as long as it survives and the lands keep coming, with the hybrid cost ensuring it never sits dead in hand for want of the right color.
