Devouring Swarm
An evasive sacrifice outlet that turns its own dying allies into incremental reach. The fragility is the catch: a 2/1 with flying folds to almost any removal, and each creature you feed it only adds a single point until end of turn, so the pumps evaporate before they ever stack into a body the board has to answer. That makes it less a value engine than a tempo conversion: spend a creature that has already done its work (a chump blocker, a token, a creature that triggered something on the way out) and translate the leftover into a point of damage in the air. The flying is what makes the activation worth anything, because the +1/+1 buys nothing on a stalled ground; it only counts when the swing is already getting through, and one sacrifice nudges that swing by exactly one. It sits in the long line of black creatures that monetize the graveyard's intake rather than its output, asking you to value bodies as fuel before they hit the yard. Functional and narrow, entirely dependent on a steady supply of expendable creatures: without that pipeline, the activated ability sits idle and the card is just a small flier biding its time.
