Reanimation that lives entirely in the combat step. Most graveyard recursion in white runs through enters-the-battlefield triggers or sorcery-speed loops; this one attaches the payoff to the attack declaration, so the body has to swing before it gives anything back. Exert is the cost that pays for the rate: tap this 3/2 in for a hit, lock it down over your next untap, and a small creature comes back from the graveyard onto the battlefield untapped, ready to block on the crackback or feed a sacrifice engine, though it arrives too late in the declare-attackers step to join this combat. The two-mana-or-less ceiling keeps the engine pointed at exactly the creatures that want to die and return: one-drop hatebears, mana dorks, sacrifice fodder, anything carrying its own enters-the-battlefield value. Pair it with a way to untap the attacker and the reanimation repeats every turn. The structural cousins are small white loop pieces like Whitemane Lion, but those bounce or blink to reset their own triggers; this one digs into the graveyard, which is rarer ground for the color. The real tension is directional: white recursion is usually a defensive, grind-it-out tool, and this card forces you to commit to combat to access it. You cannot hold it back and accrue value safely; the trigger only fires on the swing. Attack to rebuild, and risk the attacker doing it, is the bargain that holds the design together.
