Fireball with a second barrel. The X-spell template trades efficiency for flexibility: you pay variable mana for variable damage, and the floor is always whatever the board needs right now, the ceiling whatever your land count permits. What this design adds to that lineage is the back half. A flashback X-spell answers the structural weakness every X-burn shares, which is that one card spends itself on one effect: cast it small early to clear a threat or push damage, then recast it from the graveyard for the kill when the mana opens up. The flashback cost is deliberately steep, three red on top of the X, so the second cast wants a real mana surplus rather than a free follow-up. That spread is the whole tension. A scaling spell that can fire twice has to charge a premium on the encore, or it becomes a two-for-one with no opportunity cost; the triple-red commitment keeps the back half honest and pushes it deep into a game where lands are no longer scarce. The result is a burn spell that does its best work at both ends of the curve: a removal answer in the early turns, a reach-finisher when the second cast arrives. Most X-burn asks you to choose between flexibility and inevitability. This one offers both, on a delay, for a price.
