Detective of the Month
The design hinges on a single draw trigger tied to a creature type. Draw your second card in a turn and you get a 2/2 Detective, which is a lower bar than it reads: any repeatable card-advantage engine, a cantrip you were already casting, or an extra-draw effect flips it on, and every token is itself a Detective. That token clause quietly stocks the board toward ascend's ten-permanent threshold, and the static blessing repays the count by making the whole Detective swarm unblockable. The two halves feed one direction into the other: the draw engine widens the board, the board hits ten permanents, and the city's blessing converts that width into an evasive clock nobody can chump. Left alone it is a 2/3 that needs a draw structure around it to matter; given that structure, it turns routine card draw into a self-replicating, unblockable board. The tribal type does load-bearing work here, since the token generation and the evasion both key off Detectives rather than resolving into a generically good value creature. This is a payoff built for a deck already committed to drawing an extra card every turn, not a splashy one-off: it wants a reliable second draw more than it wants a splashy one, and it pays back that reliability with a board that grows and evades on its own.
