A 1/2 that pays you twice for the things a value-oriented white deck is already doing. The death trigger handing over a 3/2 Eldrazi Horror means trading the Sentry into a blocker or feeding it to a sacrifice engine nets a bigger creature than you lost: the kind of profit that makes a chump block feel like an upgrade. The delirium clause is the more demanding half, a deckbuilding tax that asks white (a color that historically stocks its yard slowly) to diversify what it discards and dies, and to keep counting the variety it accumulates. When it comes online the jump from a 1/2 to a 4/2 is steep enough to change what the creature means in combat, but the +3/+0 touches only power, and only this creature's power; the toughness never moves, so the body stays as fragile as it started. That is the honest tension: a tiny soldier whose printed stats undersell its floor and oversell its ceiling, since the token is guaranteed value while the self-buff is upside you have to build toward. It was designed for a graveyard-aware white shell that wanted bodies still generating advantage after they fell, rewarding a deck willing to track the contents of its own graveyard rather than one content to curve out and swing.
