It belongs to the old black-demon lineage of oversized fatties that charged a fee to earn their stats, though the fee here is structured differently: instead of the recurring upkeep penalties those earlier designs carried, it asks for one sharp payment on the way in. That trade rewards forethought rather than punishing it. The creature you offer is rarely a loss: a spent attacker, a body with a death trigger still waiting to fire, a token whose purpose has already been served, all cashed into an evasive threat that closes a game in two or three swings. The sacrifice is friction, but it is friction you build around on purpose. A 6/6 with flying and trample at this cost was never going to arrive for free, and the required creature is the toll that prices it honestly.
