The engine that turns a tribal label into a board state. The trick in the design is the trigger condition: it fires on casting a Merfolk spell, not on resolution, so it pays you even for the Merfolk that get countered or fizzle, and it counts the spell on the stack rather than the body that lands. Every Merfolk you cast becomes two creatures' worth of pressure, and the token half arrives with hexproof, which means the spot removal that would normally trade one-for-one against your investment whiffs against the cheapest thing this makes. That untargetable drip quietly rewrites the math against a control opponent: a sweeper still answers the board, but single-target interaction becomes a losing race against bodies it can never point at. It does nothing the turn it resolves, which is the cost of the engine; the payoff is entirely forward-looking, scaling with how dense your curve is in the relevant creature type. This is the rare lord-adjacent enchantment that rewards quantity of spells over quality of any single one, pulling a deck toward a low, wide curve of cheap Merfolk rather than expensive payoffs. Its ceiling and its floor are the same restriction, though: nothing here triggers off anything but a Merfolk spell, so the card is inert the moment you take it out of the tribe it was built to feed.
