Deathbringer Regent

The wrath that doubles as a finisher, gated behind a condition that asks you to play into the very thing it punishes. Cast it from your hand with five or more other creatures already on the battlefield and the trigger sweeps everything else away, leaving a 5/6 flier standing alone. That clause is the whole tension: the board state that fires the sweep is the one where you are most likely to be dying to an opposing army, so you are betting that an opponent has overcommitted while you keep your own count low enough to come out ahead. The condition counts creatures on both sides, which turns the trigger into a read on the table rather than a guaranteed reset. Crucially, the destruction spares this Dragon itself, so a well-timed cast is a one-card swing from a crowded board to a clock in the air. The cast-from-hand restriction is the real limiter: reanimating or blinking it produces no sweep at all, since those do not cast the card from hand. It does not, however, demand that you pay full price. A cost reduction or a free-cast effect still counts as casting from hand, so the honest seven mana is the default line rather than the only one. It sits among the rare creatures that wrap a board wipe inside a flying body, trading the flexibility of a dedicated sweeper for the upside of stapling the reset to a threat that closes the game.
