Death Grasp

SorceryX generic manaWhite manaBlack mana

This is the cleanest statement of an enemy-color thesis: white's lifegain and black's reach, historically kept apart, fused into one scalable line that pays for itself in life. Burn had long been red's province, the gain-life-while-you-deal-it package belonged to black's drain effects, and here the two occupy the same X-spell without either color feeling like it borrowed something. The result can erase a creature, point at a planeswalker, or aim straight at the opponent's life total while topping off your own. The two-color cost is the brake: this is not splash-friendly removal, it asks for a real Orzhov commitment before it does anything, and at small X it is overpriced relative to a single-color burn spell of the same size. The reward for that commitment is reach that swings both directions at once. Where a creature-based finisher can be chump-blocked and a pure burn spell only pushes damage, this swings the race by the full value of X in both directions at once, which makes the life it costs an opponent count double against an aggressive plan. It wants a deep mana base under it rather than tempo on top of it: a payoff for the long game rather than the cheap interaction Orzhov often leans on. As color-pair design it is proof of concept, that white's lifegain and black's reach could share a single line of text and read as one coherent effect.
