Daxos the Returned

The experience-counter mechanic was new when this design appeared, and this is the white-black enchantment build's anchor for it. The structure is a closed loop with two halves pulling the same direction: every enchantment you cast adds an experience counter, and the activated ability spends mana to mint a Spirit token whose power and toughness are each defined as your current experience count. The crucial wrinkle is that the token's size is a continuous effect, not a snapshot. Every Spirit reads the same number off you, so a new experience counter grows your entire flock at once: the first token you made years into a game and the one you made this turn are always the exact same size, and they all swell together the next time you cast an enchantment. What keeps the engine honest is that experience counters never leave. They are tracked on you, not on a permanent, so they survive Daxos dying and they survive board wipes. That permanence is the design point. Most token-makers reset to zero the moment they are removed; this one builds a number that cannot be taken away, so the late game gets stronger the longer it runs regardless of how many times the engine gets answered. The 2/2 body and the modest activation cost are deliberately unimpressive, because the card is not a win condition early. It wants an enchantment-dense deck and a game long enough for the one resource removal cannot touch to compound.
