Dauntless Onslaught
The instant-speed double pump trick is one of combat's quieter blowouts, and this one buys two of them at once. Splitting +2/+2 across up to two creatures changes the math of a board where each side is bluffing: you can ambush an attacker while pushing through a second, or save one blocker and turn another into a brick wall. The "up to two" clause is what keeps it flexible rather than wasteful; against a single target it works as a plain +2/+2, but its ceiling is the two-for-one combat read where an opponent commits to a trade that no longer trades. The cost is the obvious tax for that flexibility: at three mana an instant, it is priced above the one-mana tricks that dominate aggressive shells, which has always confined it to slower, creature-heavy white decks that can afford to leave it up. Heroic was the mechanic it was nominally built to feed, doubling its triggers in one shot, but the card's real identity is simpler than that synergy suggests: it is a combat trick that scales with how many creatures you already have on the table, rewarding a developed board rather than a tempo race.
