This body splits the difference by attacking the problem from both ends of the timeline. The tap-on-entry clause is a soft tax that slows every artifact your opponents deploy from here on, blunting mana rocks and other tap-reliant artifacts on the turn they land. Then the sacrifice ability closes the gap the tax leaves open: a scalable board sweep that names a single mana value and clears every artifact sharing it. The costing is the balancing lever, making a wide sweep expensive enough that you are usually pointing it at a specific problem rather than blanketing the table. That precision is also the ability's ceiling: because it hits one mana value at a time, a diversified artifact base can survive a single detonation, so the card rewards reading which cost bucket is actually carrying your opponent's game. The 1/4 frame is doing quiet work too, surviving long enough to keep the tax online while it sits on the battlefield waiting for the right window to fire. It is a hoser built to sit in play as an ongoing nuisance first and a one-shot answer second, which is a more patient shape than the color's usual scorched-earth artifact removal.
