Dark Wings Bring Your Downfall

Ongoing Scheme

Most of the big face-up cards want you to stall: the whole table waits on your turn while a slow value engine ticks over. This one flips the incentive. It pays out only when you attack, and the reward scales with aggression, minting a tapped, attacking 5/5 flier every time you declare combat. That makes it a tax the table pays each time you swing rather than a grind-and-wait engine. The catch lives in the abandon clause, which fires on your own creatures dying: two deaths under your control in a single turn and the scheme folds. The Demon flood works against you the moment you start trading, sacrificing, or chump-blocking with your own board, so the card wants two things that pull against each other. It demands relentless attacking to fuel the tokens, then punishes the attrition that relentless attacking produces. In a shell that keeps its creatures alive and pushes damage through evasion or removal, it stays face up for turn after turn of free 5/5s. In a grindy sacrifice or go-wide build where bodies die in bunches, it abandons itself before it can do any real work. The design asks the archenemy to attack like they mean it and to stop feeding their own graveyard while doing so.

(An ongoing scheme remains face up until it's abandoned.) Whenever you attack, create a 5/5 black Demon creature token with flying that's tapped and attacking. At the beginning of each end step, if two or more creatures died under your control this turn, abandon this scheme.
