Darigaaz's Charm

One of five charms named for the dragon lords of an early-era allied-color cycle, this one demands the full Jund spread (all three of Darigaaz's mana symbols) for its menu, where most modal charms of the period asked only one or two colors. That triple-color cost is the constraint that buys the breadth: the recursion line pulls a creature back from the graveyard, the burn line points three damage anywhere, and the pump line bends combat math, and each mode is a fair instant on its own. The colors share a strategic direction, and so do the modes; all three feed the same black-red-green attrition plan. Refuel after a board has traded down, clear a blocker, or push the last points through. The graveyard line is what separates this from pure burn, but it is a one-for-one trade rather than card advantage: it returns parity to a hand the attrition war already spent, converting a dead-on-board removal effect into a creature you can recast. That distinction matters at deckbuilding, when you weigh which mode a given board will actually want. The card resolves once and is gone, yet choosing recursion over reach lets it answer the board state that already happened instead of the one in front of you. You pay for the flexibility in color rigidity (three specific pips at instant speed is a steep ask in any era), and you carry in exchange a single instant that becomes whichever of three answers the board demands.
