Green has always paid its two-mana slot in raw stats rather than abilities, so a body with nothing printed below the type line becomes the reference point against which every conditional or keyworded two-drop in the color gets priced. What a creature this plain reveals is a color philosophy. Where white or blue would attach a tax or a tempo wrinkle to a 2/2, green is willing to hand over the full rate with no string attached, because green's design identity has long treated efficient creatures as a baseline entitlement rather than a reward you earn through restriction. The Elf Scout typing is the only texture on the card, and even that is incidental: it adds to a tribal count without asking anything of the deck around it. There is no engine, no trigger, no payoff to build toward, and naming none of that is the honest read. It quietly defines what "fair" costs in green by being exactly that and nothing more.
