Cunning Lethemancer

Symmetrical discard is one of the oldest tensions in black's toolbox: you want to strip the opponent's hand, but the cards that do it cheaply tend to empty yours too. This one resolves that tension by demanding you solve it in deckbuilding. The discard fires on your upkeep, every turn, hitting all players equally, which means the body is only an advantage to the player who runs dry first by design. Empty your own hand on curve (or fill it with cards that want to be discarded), and the recurring tax becomes a one-sided lock that grinds the opponent down to topdecks while you keep tempo. The 2/2 frame matters more than it looks: this is meant to attack and pressure while the hand-attrition does its slower work, so the clock and the resource denial pull in the same direction rather than asking you to sit back. The lineage here runs through the Hypnotic Specter school of black creatures that punish holding cards, but the symmetry is the wrinkle: where most discard-on-attack effects only tax the defender, this taxes everyone, including its controller, and trusts the pilot to have already arranged to come out ahead. It rewards a deck built to operate from an empty grip, which is a sharper deckbuilding constraint than the modest rate suggests.
