Cultivator Drone
The mana it makes only buys one kind of thing: colorless spells, abilities of colorless permanents, and costs that demand the symbol specifically. That last point is the crux.
is not generic mana that any source can pay; it is its own restricted currency, and a ramp creature that taps for it only earns a slot when the deck is built to spend it. The era that produced this drone tried to make
a deckbuilding axis you commit to rather than a quirk you route around, and the accelerant is meaningless without the colorless top end it was printed to feed. The 2/3 body is the price of admission, not the appeal: it absorbs a few of the small bites that would pick off a one-toughness mana dork, but nobody runs this to attack. Devoid is the connective tissue, marking the creature as colorless so it belongs to the same swarm as the spells its mana casts. What it represents is a self-contained loop: a colorless source pointed at a colorless payoff, with no way to leak that mana into the rest of your hand. The drone is the humble engine piece in that experiment, useful only once you have already decided to chase the colorless cards that give its mana somewhere to go.
