Creeping Peeper

Creature — Eye1 generic manaBlue mana

A mana dork with a leash on its output, and the leash is the whole design conceit. The blue it taps for cannot go toward a counterspell or a card-draw engine or anything else the color usually wants; it is earmarked for three narrow jobs: casting enchantments, unlocking doors, and turning permanents face up. That last pair is the tell. Restricted-purpose ritual creatures are an old trick (Priest of Gix and its kin poured mana into a single sanctioned outlet), but here the outlet is tuned to a specific ecosystem of mechanics rather than a spell type. It is an accelerant built to service the enchantment side of the board and the room-and-morph machinery around it, which means its value is entirely a function of how much of your deck speaks that language. Point it at a shell full of enchantments and face-down permanents and it reads like a repeatable source of dedicated acceleration; point it at anything else and the mana evaporates unused. The 2/1 body gives it a two-drop's floor as a creature that can trade or chip in, but nobody is running this for the beatdown. It is a purpose-built enabler whose ceiling and floor are set by the deck around it, a piece of acceleration for a very particular kind of engine rather than a card that does work on its own.
