Anti-flyer tech that scales with your own manabase: the more Forests you have on the table, the harder this hits, which folds your land count into the size of the answer. That coupling is the whole design idea. Green has always paid an awkward tax for touching the air, usually with reach creatures or fight effects that demand a body on board first; this routes around that by handing green a removal spell whose ceiling is just a function of playing green honestly. The flying clause is the gating mechanism, not a bonus: the spell can only point at a creature with flying in the first place, so evasion is precisely what makes a creature legal to shoot. Stripping it is the second beat, knocking the target into blocking range if the burn alone does not finish the job. The trade-off is the variance baked into the damage count. A dedicated green deck with a board full of Forests turns this into a real removal spell capable of clearing a sizable flyer; a two-color deck splashing green off a handful of Forests is firing a glorified Shock that happens to clip a wing. That range is the reason this stayed a board-state-dependent answer rather than a reliable one. Green removal built to reward the decks already doing what green wants anyway, and to shortchange the ones trying to get the effect on the cheap.
