Contraband Kingpin

Creature — Aetherborn RogueBlue manaBlack mana

A 1/4 with lifelink is a wall that gains you life, but the body is the least interesting thing here. The scry trigger is what gives this card its shape: it fires on every artifact you control entering, which turns an artifact-dense deck into a card-selection engine that smooths your draws while the lifelink defense buys time. The 1/4 is deliberate. Four toughness lets it hold the ground in the early turns when an artifact deck is assembling its pieces, and the single point of power signals that it is not here to attack; it is here to survive long enough to dig. Each artifact that resolves becomes a free look at the top of your library, so the value accrues passively as a byproduct of doing what an artifact deck wants to do anyway: play cheap artifacts. Treasure tokens, equipment, mana rocks, artifact creatures, they all feed the same trigger, and none of them ask you to change your sequencing to benefit. That is the quiet discipline of the design: the scry is incidental, never the reason you cast the artifact, which keeps the card honest as support rather than a payoff you build toward. It rewards an artifact shell that was already going to flood the board with permanents, lengthening every game in the deck's favor through the dull arithmetic of one scry at a time.
