Contingency Plan
The number is the entire pitch: surveil cranked to five, the largest single hit of the keyword printed on a card that does nothing but bin and stack. Most surveil rides along on a creature or a spell you wanted to cast anyway; this one isolates the effect and sells it raw, which makes it fundamentally a graveyard-loading tool wearing the costume of card selection. You dig five deep, dump everything you want in the yard for delve, flashback, escape, or reanimation, and leave the rest sequenced exactly how you want to draw it. The catch is that nothing replaces the card you spent: every one of the five either stays in the library or goes to the bin, so the hand shrinks by one while the graveyard balloons and the next several draws become known quantities. That is why it functions as a setup piece rather than a value piece, and why it lives at sorcery speed by necessity; looking at and reordering five cards mid-combat would warp every interaction it touched. Two mana buys you nothing on the board and costs you a card in hand: the entire payoff sits in what the graveyard and library do afterward. This is a specialist's instrument for decks that treat the yard as an engine rather than a discard pile, and that can afford to trade raw card count for exactly the right cards in exactly the right places.
