Contemplation

Enchantment1 generic manaWhite manaWhite mana

A passive lifegain engine built on the broadest possible trigger: not creatures, not artifacts, not specific spell types, but every spell you cast. This is the kind of design that reads as harmless and was likely intended to be: one life per cast is the smallest unit the game tracks, and the enchantment does nothing to the board, the stack, or your hand. What sets it apart from incidental gain is that it scales with a deck's velocity rather than its threats. The card never cares what you cast or why, only that you cast something, which makes it a flat tax-reducer on attrition rather than a payoff that demands building around it. In a slow control mirror or a deck that churns through cantrips and removal, the life total quietly drifts upward in the background while you play the game you were already playing. That low ceiling is also what keeps the trigger honest: there is no burst, no doubling, no way to convert the trickle into anything sudden. Contemplation belongs to an older school of white enchantment design, before lifegain learned to pay off into card draw or damage, when the color was content to simply outlast. It asks nothing and promises little, and the promise compounds only for a deck patient enough to cast a great many spells.
