Concealed Weapon
Most Equipment tips its hand the moment it hits the battlefield: an artifact on the table announces exactly how much bigger your creatures are about to get. This one hides the math. Played face down, it presents as a nondescript disguise body, a 2/2 with ward that looks like any other set-aside threat until the flip. Turn it face up and it stops being a creature and becomes a +3/+0 buff that attaches itself to a creature you control for free, no equip cost paid. That reattach-on-flip trigger is what makes disguise coherent on an Equipment: without it, unmorphing an artifact would leave a loose object on the battlefield, inert until you sank mana into equipping it. The clause folds the equip into the flip, so the whole sequence resolves as a single combat-relevant swing rather than a two-step tempo tax. The window it opens is deceptive: a face-down blocker enters combat as an unremarkable body (the ward tax mainly discourages spot removal that would strip the disguise before it flips), then turns up mid-combat to redirect three power onto whichever creature you control, punishing an opponent who committed to the wrong read. is still printed for the honest games where it just goes on a creature the old-fashioned way, but the disguise line is the reason it exists: a piece of Equipment that gets to lie about being Equipment.
