Commune with Dinosaurs

SorceryGreen mana

The familiar green one-mana smoother, bent toward a single creature type. Where the broad versions of this effect dig for any land to keep a curve honest, this one widens the catch to lands or Dinosaurs and narrows nothing else, which is the whole point: a tribal payoff disguised as a cantrip. The math is the same green deck-fixing math players have leaned on for years, looking five deep and taking one card, but the card it hands you is chosen by your deck's composition rather than by the spell. Pack the library with the right creatures and this is a hit nearly every cast; run it as generic acceleration insurance and it is still a serviceable land-finder. It trades one card for one card, so the cost of that flexibility is measured in selection rather than raw card count: the risk is the dead cast when neither category shows in the top five, a risk that shrinks as tribal density climbs. It is a deckbuilding lever more than a standalone spell: tune the deck tightly around the tribe and it edges toward reading "draw the card you most wanted." That is the quiet design lesson here. A selection spell gated to a creature type returns exactly what the deck's commitment to that type earns it, and the one-mana price is set assuming you have made the commitment.
