The genius is in the price you pay to dodge the price. Four mana buys you a creature-tutor or a hand-dump elsewhere; this asks for neither sequencing nor a target, and it resolves at instant speed, which is the whole reason it reshaped how green decks are built. The variance is real (you might whiff entirely, you might hit one body, you might hit two), but the design buys consistency back by attaching the dig: looking at six cards before keeping up to two means a deck stuffed with three-drops-or-less hits the back of a curve far more often than it bricks. That consistency is bought with a deckbuilding tax. To make the spell reliable you accept a hard ceiling on creature mana value, so the entire shell bends toward cheap, high-impact bodies, and the payoff is a flash threat that ambushes attackers, rebuilds after a board wipe, or assembles two halves of a combo at the end of an opponent's turn. The blind-flip nature also means it cannot dredge specific answers from a toolbox the way a tutor does; it trades selection for surprise and tempo. What it represents is the moment green stopped being the color that does powerful things slowly and started doing two of them at once, uninvited, on the wrong player's turn.
