Coffin Queen

A reanimation engine built around a leash instead of a cost. Where most reanimation pays full freight up front (sacrifice a creature, lose life, exile the body) this one keeps the stolen creature only as long as the Queen stays tapped, and the opening clause letting you decline to untap her is the load-bearing line. That single sentence reshapes the entire interaction: the activation is cheap and repeatable precisely because the reward is conditional, tethered to a 1/1 body that has to sit there holding the reins. Untap her or lose control of her and the borrowed creature is exiled, so the design pressure runs the opposite direction from a typical engine. You want this Wizard tapped, vulnerable, and doing nothing else. It also pulls from any graveyard, not just your own, which turns an opponent's losses into your gains and makes her a parasite on the whole table's attrition. The friction is real: anything that forces her to untap evaporates your prize without ever destroying it, and bouncing or killing her severs control and exiles the creature just the same. The cheap, fragile body invites the cheapest possible answer, and that fragility is the whole balancing act. Plenty of later cards reanimate a creature for keeps at a steeper rate; this one trades permanence for repeatability and asks you to defend a fishbowl that breaks the moment anyone looks at it funny.
