Cloudheath Drake
A blue Drake that asks for white mana to do its second job, this is one of the era's experiments in cross-shard tension: the kind of card built to reward a manabase that bends toward two allied colors without demanding a full commitment to both. The body is plain blue evasion, the sort of thing that has filled five-drop slots since the game began. The vigilance activation is where the design speaks: it costs white, so the card is a flier first and a blocker second, and it only becomes both at once if you have access to a color outside its own. That gating is the whole intent. An Azorius deck gets a flexible attacker-defender; a mono-blue deck gets a fragile 3/3 that flies and nothing more. The artifact type line, common to this cycle, adds a second axis of relevance without changing how the card plays. What it represents is a quiet piece of mana-cost design philosophy: pricing an upgrade in an off-color so the reward is reserved for the players who built toward it.
