Cleaver Riot
Double strike across the whole team is the rare team-buff that scales with what you already built rather than how wide you went. Where Overrun pumps power and rewards a swarm of small bodies, this multiplies whatever damage your creatures were already going to deal: two large attackers connect like four, and a board of evasive threats simply hits twice. That makes it a finisher that inherits a board rather than one that constructs one. Sorcery speed and a heavier cost lock it into the attack step of a turn where you already have committed creatures on the table, so it punishes a stalled board state instead of building toward one. It is a precommitted alpha strike, not the surprise an instant-speed trick provides during a single block. The grant also compounds in two quieter ways: first-strike damage from these creatures resolves before regular damage, so deathtouch bodies clear blockers and then survive the swing, and any creature with a damage-triggered ability fires twice. What you spend buys the conversion of an existing board into a one-turn kill rather than a two-turn grind, and the card lives or dies on the quality of the board it walks into.
