Civil Servant

Creature — Cat CitizenGreen manaWhite mana

A Citizen payoff that spends a Citizen, which is the whole tension packed into a two-mana body. The attack trigger asks you to tap a second untapped Citizen you already control, so the +1/+0 and lifelink are never free: every swing becomes a decision about whether that other body would rather block, attack on its own, or feed this one. That crewing-style cost is what keeps a green-white two-drop lifelinker from being a pure aggro bargain; it rewards a board wide enough that spending one Citizen to sharpen another is a net gain rather than a wash. The tribal frame is doing real work. Citizen is a deliberately broad, cross-color creature type stapled onto tokens and commons across many sets, and this design is one of the small engines that gives the type a reason to exist rather than a flavor label: it only pays out when your board is genuinely full of them. The lifelink half matters most in the long grind, quietly refilling a life total that a go-wide plan naturally puts at risk, turning a race you might lose into one you can afford to fall behind in. It is a modest, honestly costed reward for committing to a Citizen count, not a bomb, and its ceiling scales exactly with how many spare bodies you can afford to keep tapping.
