Instant5 generic manaBlue mana

The genius of the design is the word "second." A plain bounce-to-library effect like Time Ebb buys you one clean turn; the threat comes right back next draw step, and the tempo you spent often does not cover the time you bought. Putting the creature one card deeper changes the math: the opponent has to draw the card on top before they ever see what you tucked away, so a typical draw sequence keeps the body gone for two turns rather than one, and longer if they never draw a redraw. Of course "second from the top" is only a default position, not a guarantee: extra draw, a tutor, or a shuffle can surface the creature ahead of schedule, and that fragility is part of the honest trade. What the placement buys is a wider window than a simple top-of-library tuck, purchased at instant speed for six mana. It is a removal spell that destroys nothing, pure tempo that resets a board state without leaving a trace on the battlefield. Against recursion or a deck flush with threats the tuck accomplishes nothing structural, and six mana is a steep ask for an answer that is, in the long run, temporary. But the precision of the placement is the whole idea: a one-slot numeric tweak that converts a stall into a real clock against a single blocker or a freshly resolved bomb.
