Filtering meets fixing in a single artifact, and the mandatory cantrip is what lifts this above the long line of one-shot color rocks that came before it. The earlier fixing artifacts in this spirit, the ones you cracked for a single mana of any color and then watched vanish, left a hole in your hand: you spent a card to smooth your mana. Here the death trigger refunds that card the moment the artifact hits the graveyard, so the net cost of fixing trends toward zero over the life of the engine. The clause also unbinds the draw from the mana ability. You do not need to sacrifice it for color to draw; any trip from the battlefield to the graveyard fires the trigger, which makes it live fuel for artifact-sacrifice payoffs and for storm-style chains where the cantrip matters more than the pip it produces. The discipline is in the cost: the mana ability charges a generic mana on top of the sacrifice, so it never fixes for free, and the draw is not optional. Crack it for mana and you take the card too, every time; there is no holding it as a card-on-demand and refusing the draw. Note the trap: a flicker exiles and returns the artifact to the battlefield, never touching the graveyard, so blinking it yields no card. It remains the rare fixing piece a deck is happy to watch die.
