The 2/3 flier for three is the unglamorous load-bearing beam of white's early creature curves. The stat line is deliberately defensive: three toughness clears the most common one-mana burn and survives the bottom rung of small attackers, so the card holds the air on defense as readily as it pressures on offense. That makes it a workhorse common in the truest sense, a body built to do exactly one job competently and ask nothing of the deck around it. No second ability, no tribal payoff baked in, no upside beyond evasion: just a clean rate that fits any white deck wanting bodies that fly. Its lineage runs long. Wind Drake established the 2/2 flier for three as the baseline, and a steady run of designs since has tried two-toughness versions, three-toughness versions, and bodies with riders attached, all probing how much a flier of this size is worth. This one lands on the durable end of that spectrum, trading the extra power for the toughness that lets it block what a 2/2 would only trade with. The Spirit type is the only flourish, and it earns its keep where a tribe wants warm flying bodies to fill out a curve. Everywhere else it is what it looks like: a competent, replaceable flier, the kind of card that never headlines a deck but quietly turns up in one anyway.
